AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA,
FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES AND LEVYING TAXES FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1941 AND ENDING
JUNE 30, 1942.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That the amount of money necessary to be
raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the limits
of the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of Calif-
ornia, to provide for carrying on the various functions of Mun-
icipal government in said City for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1941, and ending June 30, 1942, is hereby fixed at the
sum of Fifty Thousand, Nine Humdred, Sixty -four and 96/100 Dol-
lars ($50,964.96).
SECTION II : That in addition to the amount of money
necessary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money neces-
sary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within
the limits of said City to provide for a capital fund for cap-
ital outlays and for public improvements, to -wit: Public parks,
as authorized by the provisions of Ordinance No. 322 of said
City, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1941 and ending
June 30, 1942, is One Thousand, Two Hundred Nine and 79/100 Dol-
lars ($1,209.79).
SECTION III: That in addition to the amount of money
necessary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money nec-
essary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property with-
in the limits of said City to provide for the payment of annual
interest, and that portion of the principal as shall become due
before the time for fixing the next general tax levy of those
certain bonds in the principal amount of Fifty - Thousand Dollars
and 00 /100 ($50,000.00), authorized by Ordinance No. 94 of said
City, adopted on the first day of October, 1927 by the Board of
Trustees of said City, is the sum of Three Thousand Sixty -four
and 50/100 Dollars ($3,064.50).
SECTION IV: Tnat in addition to the amount of money
necessary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money neces-
sary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable lands exclusive
of improvements in Assessment District described in proceedings
for "Act of 1927,MUnicipal Improvement District No. 1 of the
City of Lynwood," to provide for the payment of interest and
such portion of the principal of the bonds issued under said
proceedings as shall become due before the time for making the
next general tax levy, is the sum of Five Hundred Twenty and
32/100 Dollars ($520.32).
SECTION V: That in addition to the amount of money nec-
essary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary
to be raised by taxation upon the taxable lands (not including
the improvements thereon) to p theprincipal and interest
which has become or will become payable on the bonds of the
hereinafter mentioned Acquisition and Improvement Districts in
said City before the proceeds of another tax levy can be made
available for the payment of said principal and interest as fol-
lows.

SECTION VI: That for the purpose of raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
within. the City limits of said City of Lynwood as the revenue to
carry on the various departments and functions of said City, for
the fiscal year beginning July, 1, 1940, the rate of taxes is
hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on all taxable property
within the City limits of said City for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 1941 and ending June 30, 1942, in the sum of Eighty -four
cents ($.84) upon each $100.00 of the assessed value of said pro-
perty as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the
B 3rd of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, within the
State of California, for the said fiscal year.
SECTION VII: That for the purpose of raising the sums
of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable
property within the City limits of said City of Lynwood to pro-
vide for a capital fund for capital outlays and public improve-
ments, to -wit: Public Parks, as authorized by Ordinance No.
322 of said City, the rate of taxes is hereby fixed and the
taxes are hereby levied on all taxable property within the City
limits of said City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1941
and ending June 30, 1942, in the sum of Two Cents ($.02) upon
each $100.00 of sa -d assessed value.
SECTION VIII That for the purpose of raising the sums
of :Honey necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable pro-
perty within the City limits of said City of Lynwood to provide
for the payment of the annual interest, and that part of the
principal as shall become due before the time for fixing the
next general tax levy, of those said bonds in the principal sum
of $50,000.00, authorized by Ordinance No. 94, adopted on the
first day of October, 1927 by the Board of Trustees of said City,
the r of taxes is hereby fixed and the taxes are hereby lev-

ied on all taxable property within the City limits of said City
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1941 and ending June 30,
1942, in the sum of Seven Cents ($.07) upon each $100.00 of said
assessed value.
S ECTION IX:
That for the purpose of raising the sum of
money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable lands
exclusive of improvements, in the assessment district described
in the proceedings for "Act of 1927, Municipal Improvement Dis-
trict No. 1 of the City of Lynwood," to provide for the payment
of the interest and such portion of the principal of the bonds
issued under said proceedings as shall become due before the time
for making the necessary general tax levy, the rate of taxes is
hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied, in addition to all
other taxes levied for Municipal purposes, on all taxable lands
exclusive of improvements in said assessed district for the fis-
cal year beginning July 1, 1941 and ending June 30, 1942, in the
sum of Two Dollars and 40,1100 ($2.40) upon each $100.00 of the
assessed value of said taxable lands, exclusive of improvements
thereon, as assessed by the County Assessor and equalized by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, within the
State of California, for said fiscal year.
SECTION X:
That for the purpose of raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable lands
(not including the improvements thereon) to pay the principal
and interest which has become or will become payable on the bonds
of the hereinafter mentioned Acquisition and Improvement Districts
in said City before the proceeds of another tax levy can be made
available for the payments of said principal and interest, the
rate of taxes is hereby fixed and special assessment taxes are
hereby levied for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1941 and end -
June 30, 1942, in addition to all other taxes levied for Munici-

pal purposes, on all taxable lands exclusive of improvements in
the zones hereinafter mentioned, in the following Acquisition
and Improvement Districts of said City as said Districts and zones
thereof were established by proceedings of said City, in the
following sums respectively, upon each $100.00 of the assessed
value of said taxable lands, exclusive of improvements, as asses-
sed by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Super-
visors of said County of Los Angeles for said fiscal year:

SECTION XI: That no levy of a Special Assessment tax
is made by the City Council of said City of Lynwood in the mat-
ter of Acquisition and Improvement Districts Nos. 17, 18, 20
and 28 of said City for the fi reason that said Districts are
within two Cities, or partly within unincorporated territory of
said County of Los Angeles and partly within said City of Lynwood,
California, and for that reason, the duty of making said levy is
enjoined upon the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California. However, the requirements for the
respective Districts are given as follows, to -wit:

and said Board of Supervisors is hereby respectfully requested to
make such levy in the amounts given hereinabove in the manner and
as required by law.
SECTION XII:
It is hereby declared that the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety require that
this Ordinance shall become effective immediately, and the facts
constituting the emergency thereof are as follows:

Tuesday, August 26, 1941, is the last day upon which
the City of Lynwood can fix the rate of taxes and make a valid
assessment and levy such rates so fixed as provided by law.
SECTION XIII: That the Citti of said City shall cer-
tify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be
publishedonce in the "Lynwood Press, a weekly newspaper of gen-
eral circulation published and circulated in said City of Lyn-
wood. Said City Clerk shall also be directed to forthwith de-
liver to the Tax Collector of Los Angeles County a certified
copy of this Ordinance.
