Re: Monthly Department Report – November 2019
1. Software Applications and Services:
Information Systems staff in conjunction with McCall Police Department has rolled out electronic
ticketing in all patrol cars. This has sped up the time it takes to write out a ticket. It reduces errors and
automatically transmits the driver and ticket information to a centralized server. Additionally, the
County has a plan to upgrade\change from their existing Records Management System (RMS) named
ARTS to a more flexible and comprehensive system. This new RMS, Zuercher, would give our officers
greater flexibility in utilizing the laptops installed in their cars.
2. City Process Evaluation Update:
The City Process Evaluation (CPE) is moving forward. Several forms have been created within
Laserfiche and are being finalized for general use. Most of these forms will also take advantage of the
Docusign electronic signing capability. Additionally, an electronic PO process is in testing using
technology within Caselle. This new procedure is very streamlined. It allows the creation of a new PO
in about one quarter the time of the old form and automatically forwards the PO through Finance and
to the City Manager as needed. Next steps are electronic time keeping and the acceptance of online
credit card payments. We are also exploring business workflow process within Laserfiche as a way to
capture information from fillable forms.
