This month’s Armchair Travelogue sails away with Mark McClellen and Anne MacDonald on December 9th at 6:30 p.m. Mark and Anne sailed for 8 years from North America to Australia. Doing Democracy takes a break for December and starts back on a regular schedule in January. 2. Staff: The Library Director was elected President of the Valley Mountain Library Consortium for 2020. This regional consortium of approximately 15 rural libraries works together to provide professional development and a shared digital platform for e-books and e-audiobooks online. 3. Outreach: Family Reading Week hosted a visiting children’s author and encouraged families to read every night. Free books were distributed and there were 36 attendees. Free movie benefit for Shepherd’s Home, Heartland Hunger, and Cram the Van had 76 people attend. We donated all proceeds –over $800—to these 3 nonprofits. Thanks to Banyan’s at the Golf Course Clubhouse for offering us space for the event. 4. Library Stats: October statistics are attached.
