\ORDINANCE NO. OF'THE BOARD OF
i TRUSTEES OF TF. T F LZWOOD, RELATING
TO AN ANNEXATION ELECTION AND APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE SAID CITY OF THE
ADDITION KNOWN AS "WAWONA PARK".
WHEREAS, the card of Trustees of the City of
Lynwood on the day of June, ?927, received.a__
written petition signed by not less than one- fourth (1/4) of
the qualified electors residing in the territory described
therein (and hereinafter described) as shown by the registration
of voters of the County of Los Angeles, being the County in
which such territory is situated, which said petition, contained
a description of certain new territory proposed to be annexed.
to the City of Lynwood, and asked that such territory be
annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the said City of
Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the said petition contained a request that
the question be submitted to the electors residing in the said
territory, as set forth, and
WHEREAS, the said Board of Trustees immediately after
the receipt of the said petition and on the 14th day of June,
1927, did. by its Resolution No. _� G / on file. in the office
1, of the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood, order that a special
election be held in the territory so proposed to be annexed on
the 2ith day of July, 1927, and that notice of such special
election be given by.the publication of a notice thereof in the
"Home Gardens Press ", the same being a newspaper of general
circulation printed and published outside of the City of
Lynwood but in the County of Los Angeles;,et least once a week
for a period of five successive weeks next preceding the date of
such election, - the said notice being set forth substantially
in said Resolution, and , .
WHEREAS, the said petition requested and the said

pursuance the provisiona of the Act of the Legislature of the
State of California, entitled "An Act to provide for the
.r
alterations of the boundaries ofand for the annexation of
territory to Municipal Corporation, for the incorporation of such
annexed territory in and as a part thereof, and for the district-
ing, government and, munioipal control of such-annexed territory%
approved June 11th, 1913, and all amendments thereof, and
WHEREAS, the said notice set forth in detail all
matters required by law, including the date of such election,
the proposal to be submitted, a specific description of the
boundaries of the territory proposed, to be annexed and'.a
designation of said territory as the "Wawona Park Addition" to
the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the proceedings hereinabove in-
dicated and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act of
the Legislature of the State of California, and all amendments
thereof, a special election was held in the territory in said
petition and hereinafter described and designated as the "Wawona
Park Addition" to the City of Lynwood, on the 23rd day of July,
1927, at which election there was submitted to such electors the
said proposition, and
WHEREAS, notice of such election was given by publica-
tion in the time, form and manner required by said Act, as
appears from the affidavit of W H ogre e ire . ,
on file with the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood, to -wit,
said notice was duly published In the said "Home Gardens Press"
on the following dates, viz: June 17th, June 24th, July 1st,
July 8th and July 15th, 1927, and
WHEREAS, it appears that the said special election was
duly balled and held pursuant to said notice and in accordance
with law on the 23rd day of July, 1927; that the polls for said
election were kept open during the time required by law and in

accordance with the said notice, and that the said special
election was held and conducted and votes thereof received and
canvassed and the result thereof determined and declared in the
time, form and manner required by law, and
WHEREAS, the said Board of Trustees did on the 9th
day of August, 1927 being the time provided for its regular
meeting next after the expiration of three days from and after
the date of said election, meet and canvass the returns of the
said special election, as required by law, whereupon the result
of the said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter stat-
ed, and entered upon the Munitea;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lynwood, now known as the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
does ordain as follows, to -wit:
SECTION 1 . That the new territory proposed to be .�
annexed to the City of Lynwood, as aforesaid, is particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the point where the southerly prolonga-
tion of the westerly line - -of Lot -76 -of Tract No. 5222, as per map
recorded in Book 58, Page 21 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles
County, California, intersects the southerly line of Tweedy and
Abbott Road, said point of beginning being on the northerly .
boundary line of the City of Lynwood, California, as said
boundary line existed the 9th day of May, 1927, A.D.; thence
northerly along the said southerly prolongation of the westerly
line of said Lot 76 to the southwesterly corner of said Lot 76;
thence northerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of
Lot 74 of said Tract No. 5222; thence westerly in a direct line
to the southwesterly corner of Lot 73 of said Tract No. 5222;
thence northerly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of
Lot 71 of said Tract No. 5222; thence northwesterly in a direct
line to the southwesterly corner of Lot 55 of said Tract No.

erly in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 166 of
said Tract No. 5222; thence easterly along the northerly line
and the easterly prolongation of the northerly line of said Lot
166, to the easterly line of Mariposa Lane; thence southerly
along the easterly line and the southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of said Mariposa Lane, to a point on the southerly
line of Tweedy and Abbott Road, said point being on the north-
erly boundary line of the City of Lynwood, California, as.said
boundary line existed on the 9th day of May, 1927, A.D.; thence

to the place of beginning.

SECTION 2 . That there was but one election precinct
established and provided for the holding of said special
election, the boundaries of which were and are the boundaries
of the said territory.
SECTION 3 . That the proposition voted on in said
special election was whether said described territory should be
annexed to the City of Lynwood; and that the whole number of
votes cast on said proposition at said special election on July
23rd, 1927, was votes, and that the number of votes
cast at such election in favor of said proposition was v.
votes, and the number of votes cast against the same was
and
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of
the said election so held in said territory that the majority
cast in said territory on said proposition are in favor of said
annexation, - IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED that the annexation of the
said.territory to the City of Lynwood is hereby approved, and
the said territory is hereby declared to be annexed to, in-
corporated in, and made a part of the -City of Lynwood, and
d4gctiv%i.s� IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that a certified copy of this
Ordinance, giving the date of its passage, under the seal of the
City of Lynwood, be submitted to and filed.with the Secretary of
State of the State of California, from and after the date of
which filing the annexation of such territory shall be deemed to
be complete, and thenceforth the said annexed territory shall be
to all intents and purposes a part of the City of Lynwood.

This Ordinance shall take offect ion �ndxaft
after its final passage and approval.
Section 6. The Clerk'of,,the City of Lynwood is hereby
directed to cause this Ordinance to be published once,
after its final passage, in the Lynwood Tribune, which
Newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose.
