A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
PLANNING GROUP,_INC.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council seeks to promote economic
development by stimulating private investment in the City of Lynwood;
and
WHEREAS, economic development expertise in the feasibility
analysis, negotiating, financing, and packaging of development pro-
jects is to bring investors and investment capital into the
City; and
WHEREAS; an urban economic development conference hosted .
by the City of Lynwood would provide visibility for the City, would
demonstrate that the City is taking an active and leading role in
promoting development, and by bringing together developers and other
development specialists with City officials, would facilitat- the ex-
ploration and discussion of specific opportunities for ,;pint public/:
private development partnership in the.City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Consultant
is qualified by training and experience to design plans for.such a
conference and to identify and contact conference participants:..
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1 : To enter into an Agreement with the`Plan-hing Group,
Inc., a California corporation, to:
1. Prepare grant proposals to obtain funding support from:the•
Local Initiative Support Corporation for purposes of con
ducting the conference and obtain -tng staff sup:p`ort for the:
newly established Associated Lynwood Economic Recovery
Team (ALERT).
Z. Prepare concept design, financing, and implementation
plans for the Urban Economic Development Conference.
3. Identify and recruit conference partic.ipants.
4. Prepare progress reports and submit a final report by
,q:tg-a-e 15 ,. 19 8 2 .

SECTION 2: That the Mayor be. authorized to execute the
above mentioned Agreement on behalf of the City Council.
