HomeMy Public PortalAbout82-072 (05-04-82)RESOLUTION NO. 82 -72 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABATE DRY AND DRYING WEEDS ON CERTAIN PARCELS.OF. LAND IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD. WHEREAS, Chaoter.13 of the Government Code, cited as. "Weed and Rubbish.Abatement," provides for abatement of dry and drying weeds, stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material, that constitute a Public Nuisance; and, WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention bf the City Council of the City of Lynwood by the Director of Public Works /City Engineer that there exists a public nuisance on a certain parcel of land in the City of Lynwood, as hereinafter more particularly described: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood, as follows: 1. That by reason of dry and drying weeds, stubble, brush, litter or other flammable material being located on or in front thereof, a public nuisance exists upon the parcels of land, lots or portions of lots set forth below: Lot 87, Tract 6728 Easterly 47' of Lot 38 11521 Duncan Avenue Tract Modjeska Acres 3117 Louise Street 2. That said weeds are hereby found and declared to be seasonal and recurrent nuisances; 3. That said weeds.and /or stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material which endangers the public safety by __creating a fire hazard, constitute a public nuisance which must be abated by the removal thereof and that if the same are not removed by the owners of the aforesaid properties, the nuisance will be abated by the City and the cost thereof assessed upon said properties and that upon confirmation, such costs will constitute a.lien thereon until paid; 4. That the.Director of Public Works /City Engineer is directed to cause notices to be posted in the time, form and manner required by law; 5. That the proceedings for aforesiad work shall be taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the Government Code, Chapter 13, Section 39501, et seq., cited as "Weed and Rubbish Abatement," and amendments thereto. 6. Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of May, 1982, Tuesday, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood, any and all persons having any objections or protests to said proposed work may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed work should.not be carried out in accordance with said Act. 7. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED THIS - 4th day of MAXI 1 1982. LOUIS A.
