HomeMy Public PortalAbout(recvd too late to include) InfoSys Department Report July 2019Memo To: City Council From: Chris Curtin, InfoSys Manager Date: 8-8-2019 Re: Monthly Department Report – August 2019 Network Infrastructure, Projects and Services: Fiber installation from City Hall to Sansom Trail is complete. Next step is to pull fiber in the conduit and terminate. Phase 2 from Public Works to the Water Treatment plant has begun and I anticipate completion around end of September. Personnel: The State of Idaho has formed a Broadband Task Force to explore internet connectivity solutions statewide. They are considering proposals for both rural as well as metropolitan areas. I was asked to present an overview of our project and it challenges at the last meeting. Additionally, the Task Force is asking if the City of McCall would like to hold one of the co-Chair positions of the Rural branch of the Task Force. They will meet an additional 2-3 times before making recommendations. Software Applications and Services: The City has been upgraded to the new Microsoft Teams phone platform. The City Process Evaluation (CPE) has completed the first round of interviews with all of the Departments. We will be presenting our findings to the City Manager and anticipate moving forward with some of the forms and process automation as we head into Fall.
