A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AMENDING RULE VI SECTION 3 OF THE
PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted Personnel
Rules and Regulations and revised same as needed, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood adopted Resolution 81 -12
which authorized the Personnel Officer to receive summary criminal history infor-
mation from local agencies as well as from the State, and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations specify the authorization to
receive summary criminal history information for employment purposes from the
State, but omit specification of the authorization to receive similar information
from local agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve
as follows
SECTION 1 : Amend Rule VI of the Personnel Rules and Regulations to
delete Section 3 as presently specified and add Section
3 as follows
Section 3. Disqualification The Personnel Officer shall
reject any application which indicates on its face that the
applicant does not possess the minimum qualifications re-
quired for the position. Applications also shall be reviewed
if the applicant is not a citizen of the United States, is
physically unfit for the performance of the duties, is addicted
to habitual use of drugs, has been convicted of crimes involving
moral turpitude or job - related crimes, has made any false state-
ment of any material fact or practice, or attempted to practice
any deception or'fraud in the application. In order to determine
whether an applicant has been convicted of a crime of moral tur-
pitude or a felony or misdemeanor related to the employment in
question, the Personnel Officer hereby and by Resolution 81 -12
is authorized, pursuant to Penal Code 11105 (b) (10) and 13300
(b) (10) to obtain and review State and local summary criminal
history information.
SECTION 2 : This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
