HomeMy Public PortalAbout82-094 (06-15-82)•x RESOLUTION NO. 82 -94 RESOLUTION.OF INTENTION TO ABATE DRY AND DRYING WEEDS-ON CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD. WHEREAS, Chapter 13 of the-Government Code, cited. as Weed and Rubbish Abatement,." provides for abatement of dry and drying weeds, stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material, that constitute a Public Nuisance; and, WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Lynwood by the Director of Public Works /City Engineer that there exists a public nuisance on a certain - parcel of land in the City of Lynwood, as hereinafter more particularly described: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood, as follows: 1. That by reason of dry and drying weeds, stubble, brush, litter or other flammable material being located on or in front thereof, a public nuisance exists upon the parcels of land, lots or portions of lots set forth below: 10770 State Street 11607 Long Beach Blvd. Lot 16, Block 3, Lot 607, Tract 2992 Tract 6474 2. That said weeds are hereby found and declared to be seasonal and recurrent nuisances; 3. That said weeds and /or stubble, brush, litter, or other flammable material which endangers the public safety by creating a fire hazard, constitute a public nuisance which must be abated by the removal.thereof and that if the same are not removed by the owners of the aforesaid properties, the nuisance will be abated by the City and the cost thereof assessed upon said properties and that upon confirmation, such costs will constitute a lien thereon until paid; 4. That the Director of Public Works /City Engineer is directed to cause said notices to be posted in the time, form and manner required by law; 5. That the proceedings for aforesaid work shall be taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the Government Code, Chapter 13, Section 39501, et seq., cited as "Weed and Rubbish Abatement," and amendments thereto. 6. Notice is hereby given that on the sixth day of July, 1982, Tuesday, at the hour of 7:30 P.M., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood, any and all persons having any objections or protests to said proposed work may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed work should not be carried out in accordance with said Act. 7.
