RESOLUTION NO. 82 -98
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
TO THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR AN ENFORCEMENT
PROJECT RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood continually
intends to improve and enhance traffic safety, and
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States has passed
legislation, Title 23, U.S. Code, Section 402, Highway Safety
Program, authorizing certain funds to be used for Traffic Safety
purposes; and,
- WHEREAS, the California Office of Traffic Safety has
been designated'to administer such funds on behalf of the.citizens
of California; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is eligible to receive such
funds; and,
WHEREAS, the City has certain traffic safety needs that
have not been met, of which a high priority is.the need for
an enforcement project directed to motorists driving under the
influence.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Lynwood
submit the required application forms to the Office of Traffic
Safety for an enforcement project relating to driving under the
influence.
SECTION 1 . This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
