HomeMy Public PortalAboutBlank CITY OF MCCALL MONTHLY DEPARTMENT REPORT MONTH: DEPARTMENT: Finance/City Clerk DEPARTMENT HEAD: Cathleen Koch DATE: January 3, 2002 REPORT DESCRIPTION   Business Licenses  A notice of public hearing will be posted to consider additional fees for the business licenses.   Electronic Data Management  The Finance Department, Police Department, and Library have a meeting with Carol Coyle about a possible grant for electronic data management.   Audit  The auditors will be on the agenda January 24, 2002 to present financials for fiscal year 2001.   Election – November 2001  The next election will be November 6, 2001. The City of McCall will have 3 council seats up for election. Candidates will be able to file a petition of nomination from September 7, 2001 through September 27, 2001. Council will need to decide by September 7, 2001 if they intend to publish an ordinance to change salaries for the Mayor or Council. Citizens must register to vote by October 12, 2001 or wait until Election Day to register.   Budget  The budget calendar is as follows: Open house/public meeting Monday, June 11th 7 pm Legion Hall Council work session Saturday, July 7th 8 am Legion Hall Budget hearing/Council approval of budget Regular Council Meeting Thursday, July 26th 7 pm Legion Hall In between the public and Council meetings, city staff will be holding department head and committee meetings to put together and review the budget. Local Improvement Districts  Council needs to make a policy decision on how to handle property that has been deeded to the City. The City has recorded four deeds in the last month. Three out of four of the properties have payments due on the bonds in July 2001. Council can choose to have a public auction or require sealed bids. Staff recommends the sealed bid process with a minimum bid, which will cover the cost the City has already incurred.
