RESOLUTION NO. 82 -11
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE
ELEMENT OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD GENERAL PLAN BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY FROM "MULTI- FAMILY RESIDENTIAL" TO
"COMMERCIAL ".
WHEREAS, on June 8, 1982, the Planning Commission did adopt
a resolution approving the subject amendment;
WHEREAS, oA July 20, 1982, the City Council did, after pub-
lic notification pursuant to law, hold a public hearing on the pro-
posed amendment to the Land Use Element of the General Plan;,
WHEREAS, an amendment to the General Plan is necessary in
order to permit proposed development which otherwise is inconsistent
with the General Plan, but which would be appropriate in the manner
and location proposed and would not be injurious to the City or sur-
rounding properties;
WHEREAS, the Planning Division has determined that the
amendment will have no significant environmental impacts and has filed
a Negative Declaration;
SECTION 1 : The City Council of the City of Lynwood DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE as follows:
A. The proposed development under the requested land use
designation would be appropriate in the manner and
and location proposed and would riot be injurious to the
City or surrounding properties;
B. The proposed General Plan Amendment will be compatible
with the existing and planned land use of the subject
area;
C. The proposed General Plan Amendment would be consistent
with the General Plan of the neighboring City of Compton.
SECTION 2 : The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby
recommends adoption of an amendment to the General Plan Map found with-
in the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the City of Lynwood for
the area shown on attached Map "A ". Said amendment shall change the
land use designation of the subject area from "Multi- Family Residen-
tial" to "Commercial ".
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 1982, by mem-
bers of the City Council voting as follows:
AYES: Councilmen Byork, Green, Morris, Rowe, Thompson
