A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONDUCT A
PUBLIC HEARING TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER A NUISANCE
IS BEING MAINTAINED ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
GENERALLY KNOWN AS 12519 ATLANTIC AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief of the City of Lynwood has,
recommended :that this City Cnuu,:il fired that certain premises
within the City of Lynwood may be being maintained in such a
way as to constitute a nuisance; and, '
WHEREAS,..the conditions on said property which may
constitute a nuisance are:
1. Broken windows throughout the building.
2." Trash = :throughout the premises.
3. The building is not secured and partially destroyed.
4. Untrimmed trees and bushes.
5. Building is causing an attractive nuisance to
neighborhood children.
6., The sprinkler system continues to be in an inoperable
condition.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. Based upon the aforesaid recommendation of
the Fire C ieh�, the Council finds and determines that the following
described property may be presently being maintained in such a
manner as to constitute a nuisance. Said property is described as
Lot 15, Tract 7099, generally known as 12519 Atlantic Avenue, City
of Lynwood, California.
Section 2. The aforesaid conditions on said property
are in vio ati�on o' following sections of the Lynwood City
Code:
a. Section 21 -16B and Section 21- 161(1),(5).
b. Section 21- 38I(1),(3),(15)(i)(iv).
c. Section 13.302 Uniform Fire Code(1971).
Section 10.302(a) Uniform Fire Code(1979).
Section 3802b(4) Uniform Building Code(1979).
Section 3. The method(s� by which said conditions could
be abated are:
a. The trimmimb'of all overgrown vegetation and abate-
ment of weeds throughout the premises.
b. Abatement of all trash and debris scattered throughout
the premises.
c. Sprinkler system to be in operable condition.
d. Replacement of all windows, doors, and other fixtures
in need of repair. Recommend wrought iron window
guards because 61, frequent vandalism..
e. Maintenance and security of premises to be maintained
at all times.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council therefore
declares its intention to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to
Chapter 21 of the City Code of Lynwood, to ascertain whether the
above described conditions constitute a public nuisance, the
abatement of which is appropriate under the police power of the
City of Lynwood and;
The City Council hereby fixes the hour of 7:30 p.m.,
September 21, 1982, as the time and the City Council Chambers,
11330 Bullis Road as the place for said public hearing, and the
City Clerk is authorized and directed to serve and post certified
copies of this resolutionin the manner set forth in Section 22 -A
of the Lynwood City Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of
