RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION FOR DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN
TERRITORY IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD FROM THE CON-
SOLIDATED FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND FIRESTONE
GARBAGE DISPOSAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, Section 56195 of the Government Code provides that
a proposal for a reorganization may be made by the adoption of a
resolution of application by the legislative body of a city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood desires
to initiate proceedings for the detachment from the Consolidated
Fire Protection District and Firestone Garbage Disposal District of
certain territory hereinafter described, pursuant to the District
Reorganization Act of 1965 (Division 1 of Title 6, commencing with
Section 56000, of the Government Code).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. Application is hereby made to the Local Agency Forma-
tion Commission for detachment of said territory from Consolidated
Fire Protection District and 'from Firestone Garbage Disposal Dis-
trict. The exterior boundaries of such territory are described
in Exhibit "A', attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. The reason for this reorgnization is to align juris-
dictional and public service boundaries by providing said Lynwood
territory with services in the same manner as in the rest of the
City.
3. The following are affected counties, cities and dis-
tricts: the City of Lynwood, Consolidated Fire Protection Dis-
trict of Los Angeles County,' and Firestone Garbage Disposal Dis-
trict.
4. It is requested that this reorganization be made sub-
ject to the following specified terms and conditions:
(a) That the subject territory shall be withdrawn from
Willowbrook Lighting District, said detachment to become effective
after completion of this reorganization and upon such date as the
required filings are made.

(b) That the City Council of the City of Lynwood be
authorized to proceed with this reorganization without notice and
hearing pursuant to Government Code Section 56261.
5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file
a certified copy of this resolution with the Los Angeles County Local
Agency Formation Commission, together with the fee and all other
documents required by said Commission.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of
August, 1982.
