A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GIVING CERTAIN APPROVALS AND AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN ACTIONS REQUIRED IN SUPPORT OF A HOME
SECURITY PROJECT FOR SENIOR CITIZENS.
WHEREAS, the City is the recipient of a grant consisting
of 300 sets of deadbolt locks from the League of California Cities;
and
WHEREAS, said locks have been provided to the City through
the League's "Senior Citizens Target Hardening Project" for the pur-
pose of reducing the burglary rate for low to moderate income elderly
households; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood approved
on July 6, 1982, the implementation of a Senior Citizens Home Security
Project; and
WHEREAS, said project will further the City's ongoing efforts
in providing its low and moderate income residents with healthier,
safer and more secure homes; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to obtain the services of a quali-
fied contractor to operate said project;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood, as follows:
SECTION 1 . That the attached recommendations of the Pro-
posal Review Committee for selection of contractor are approved.
SECTION 2 . That the attached Agreement providing for the
use of $19,457.467n CDBG funds with the selected contractor is
approved, subject to such changes as are approved by the City Attorney,
and the Mayor is authorized to execute said Agreement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of
September 1982.
