A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 79 -105
AND REESTABLISHING THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
BUILDING OFFICIAL TO ISSUE MOVING PERMITS FOR
OVERHEIGHT, OVERWIDTH, AND OVERWEIGHT LOADS
ON CITY STREETS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
adopted Resolution No. 79 -105 authorizing the County of Los
Angeles to issue for, and on behalf of, the City of Lynwood
moving permits for overheight, overwidth, and overweight loads
on City streets; and
WHEREAS, after having considered the existing procecures
for issuing such permits the City Council has determined that the
City does not now have adequate control over the protection of
public infrastructure, and the health and safety of the public
with respect to house moving activity in the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1 . That the County of Los Angeles Road Depart-
ment is no longer authorized to issue for, and on behalf of, the
City of Lynwood moving permits for overheight, overwidth, and
overweight loads on City streets.
Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Road Commis-
sioner, Los Angeles County Road Department, 1540 Alcazar Street,
Los Angeles, California 90033.
Section 3 . That the authority to issue such moving
permits is once again placed with the City Building Official in
accordance with the provisions of Sections 8 -22 et. seq., of the
Lynwood City Code.
