A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND, FOUR HUN-
DRED EIGHTY -EIGHT DOLLARS ($15,488) FROM THE GENERAL FUND
UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING LYN-
WOOD'S LICENSE CANVASSING PROGRAM FOR FISCAL YEAR 1982 -83
WHEREAS, on July 20, 1982, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
approved an amendment to the SEAACA Agreement for Fiscal Year 1982 -83 for the
provision of animal control services with the exception of Section 1.3 relating
to License Canvassing;
WHEREAS, the License Canvassing Program is a very vital component of
a thorough and viable animal control program, especially the collection of fees
from non - compliance, curbing the number of rabid animals in the City and also
cutting down on the number of stray animals in the City's streets;
WHEREAS, at the August 17, 1982, Council Meeting, the City Council
recognized the need for a License Canvassing Program conducted by SEAACA and
that the Program be subsidized by the City of Lynwood;
WHEREAS, monies were not budgeted for a License Canvassing Program in
the City Clerk's budget for Fiscal Year 1982 -83 to defray the negotiated cost
of conducting said Proaram in the City of Lynwood;
WHEREAS, SEAACA has notified the Citv that its portion of the License
Canvassing Program would be $15,488, which will be billed one -half due October 1,
1982, and the remaining one -half due January 1, 1983;
