Home My Public Portal About82-194 (12-21-82)RESOLUTION NO. 82 -194 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF LYNWOOD ON THE 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1982, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of November, 1982, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that said special municipal election was consolidated with the Statewide election held on the same date and that, within the City of Lynwood the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two election were the same, and that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles canvassed the returns of the special municipal election and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Election Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 82 -119, adopted the 3rd day of August, 1982, the Registrar of Voters canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereto as "Exhibit A." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . That at said special municipal election, the following measure was submitted to the electors of said City, to wit: "Shall an Ordinance providing for the levy of a special tax for Paramedic Services be adopted ?" Section 2 . That the whole number of votes cast in said City (except absent voter ballots) was 8,070. Section 3 . That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 258, making a total of 8,328 votes cast in the City. Section 4 . That the measure voted upon at said election is as follows: "Shall an Ordinance providing for the levy of a special tax for Paramedic Services be adopted ?" That the number of votes given at each precinct for and against the measure were as listed in "Exhibit. A ", attached. Section 5 . That as a result of said election, a two- thirds majority of the qualified voters voting on said measure relating to Paramedic Service did not vote in favor thereof, and that said measure was not carried, and shall not be deemed adopted and ratified. J Section 6 . The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City a statement of the result of said election showing: (1) The whole number of votes cast in the City; (2) The measure voted upon; (3) The number of votes given at each precinct for and against each measure; (4) The number of votes given in the City for and against each measure. Section 7 . That t"e City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a :minute of the passace and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
