A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
'THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZINIG AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AND SHELTER VENTURES C'ORP'ORATION FOR
SERVICES TO PREPARE AN APPLICATION
FOR A H.U.D. SECTION: 202 SENIOR/
HANDICAPPED HOUSING PROJECT

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, on January
21. 199C, adopted a motion to appropriate $4,000 for the purpose
of assisting a non - profit corporation in the preparation of an
application for Section 212 Senior Citizens /Handicapped Housing
financinq in the area bounded by Imperial Highway, Long Beach
Boulevard, Fernwood Avenue, and State Street (Redevelopment
Project Area ";A "); and
WHEREAS,; the development of such housing would further the
goals of the City's Housing Element and Housing Assistance Plan;
and ,
WHEREAS, in order to carry out the City Council's directive,
the services of a housing consultant are required to 1) organize
and form an eligible nonprofit owner - mortgagor entity as
required under the provisions of Section 202, and 2) prepare an
application for funding of a Section 202 assisted rental housino
project for the elderly and handicapped.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
SECTION _1_ That the Mayor is authorized to e;:ecute a
contract with Shelter Ventuires Corporation for services to
recommend an appropriate site configuration for a Section 202
Project, to organize and form an eligible nonprofit owner -
mortgagor entity per the requirements of Section 212, to assist
in the preparation of an application for. Section 212 Project
funding.

SECTION_ That payment for the contracted housing
consultant services shall be in an amount of $4,ififii to be paid
from federal bloc4: grant funds.
SECTION_ -__ That the Mayor, City Manager, and Community
Development Director are authorized to sign on behalf of the City
any required Community Development Block Grant Forms necessary to
fund the contract.
