A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
REQUESTING THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DESIGNATE LYNWOOD, AS
PART OF THE PROPOSED CONSORTIUM, A SERVICE DELIVERY AREA
UNDER THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has considered participation
in the Job Training Partnership Act and;
WHEREAS, the Job Training Participation Act allows service delivery area desig-
nation based on the joining of one or more continguous units of general local govern-
ment into a consortium representing a population of at least 200,000 and servicing a
substantial portion of a labor market and,
WHEREAS, several continguous cities including Lynwood desire to form a consortium
pursuant to the Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as
follows
SECTION 1 The City of Lynwood will submit an application for service area
designation as part of the proposed consortium
SECTION 2 : The City of Lynwood requests the State of California designate
Lynwood, as part of the proposed consortium, a service delivery
area under the Job Training Partnership Act.
SECTION 3 A joint powers agreement will be executed by all parties if the
request is approved.
SECTION 4 . This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of February 1983.
