A RESOLUTION PASSING UPON OBJECTION AND
DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/
CITY ENGINEER TO ABATE THE NUISANCE OF
DRY AND DRYING WEEDS THAT EXIST CN
CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND IN THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, did on the 7th day of June, 1983, adopt
Resolution No. 83 -67 relating to the abatement of dry
and drying weeds, stubble, brush, litter or other flammable
material, on certain parcels of land in the City of Lynwood;
and,
WHEREAS, due notice was given to destroy such
weeds purusant to the provisions of Section 39567.1 of the
Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
has considered all the facts and is fully informed in the
matter, and they have acquired jurisdiction to proceed and
perform the work or removal of said nuisance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that any objections
presented to said City Council are hereby overrulled, and
that the Director of Public works /City Engineer of the City
of Lynwood -be and he is hereby instructed to abate the
nuisances described in said Resolution,No. 83 -67, by having
said nuisances referred to removed, and he and his assistants
are hereby expressly authorized to enter upon private property
for that purpose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any property owners
shall have the right to have any such nuisance removed and
abated at his own expense, provided such work is done prior
to the time the work is done by the Director of Public Works/
City Engineer. If the work is done by the property owner,
no charge shall be made by the City of Lynwood.
This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this twenty -first day
of June, 1983.
