RESOLUTION NO. 83 -80
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RULE II OF THE PERSONNEL RULES AND
REGULATIONS TO INCLUDE A PROVISION ON HARASSMENT
WHEREAS, the State of California has amended the California Government
Code to outlaw harassment in employment on specific bases and,
WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations prohibit discrimination,
but currently do not contain a provision on harassment and,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised that the Personnel Rules and
Regulations should contain an harassment provision and approved the statement
below and;
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment has been reviewed by employee associa-
tion representatives and approved by the Personnel Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1 Amend Rule II of the Personnel Rules and Regulations to
insert the following as Section 2 and renumber the present Section 2
and subsequent sections:
SECTION 2. Harassment No employee or applicant shall be sub-
ject to harassment on the basis of race, color, religious creed,
sex, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, qualified physi-
cal or mental handicap, medical condition, martial status, poli-
tical affiliation or opinions or association membership
Section 2 This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
