A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AGREEING TO CONTRIBUTE $2,500
OF ITS PROPOSITION "A" - LOCAL RETURN
REVENUES TO THE COUNTY AS ITS SHARE OF THE
COST OF A TRANSIT NEEDS STUDY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood continually
intends to support efforts to meet the transit needs of the Second
Supervisorial District; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Rapid Transit District is
willing to conduct a transit needs study to identify areas of possible
service improvement and its related cost within the Second Supervisorial
District of Los Angeles County including the Cities within that Super-
visorial District providing the local agencies finance the study; and
WHEREAS, City agrees that there is a need for such a transit
study and desires to participate in the study cost; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles proposes to enter into an
Agreement with the Southern California Rapid Transit District to fund
this study in the total amount of $39,000 with the understanding that
certain Cities will partially reimburse the County with Proposition A
funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Lynwood hereby agrees to contribute $2,500 of its Proposition A
Local Return revenues to the County as its share of the study cost and
directs the City Treasurer to deposit the funds with the County Road
Department.
This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
