HomeMy Public PortalAbout83-128 (10-04-83)RESOLUTION NO. 83 -128 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, FINDING THAT THE PURCHASE OF 2 -WAY RADIOS AND EQUIPMENT CAN BE MORE ECONOMICALLY AND EFFICIENTLY EFFECTED THROUGH THE PRICE'NEGOTIATION PROCEDURE. WHEREAS, Division 3 of the Lynwood Code provides that the purchase of supplies, equipment and services in the amounts of three thousand fine .hundred dollars ($3,500) or more be contracted for and let to the lowest responsible bidder after notice, unless the City Council, by Resolution pass by not less than 4/5 votes of its members, determines that such an acquisition may be more econocmically and efficiently effected through the use of an alternate procedure; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the 2- way^rad os:and equipment'-by General.Electric (G.E:) are standardized in a manner compatible with equipment in existing City use; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the purchase of the G.E. 2 -way radios and equipment can be more economically and efficiently effected through the price negotiation procedure; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have the G.E.2 -way radios and equipment purchased the most cost effective procedure. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The purchase of the G:E:_2 -way radios,and equipment can be more economically and efficiently effected through the price negotiation procedure. SECTION 2.
