HomeMy Public PortalAbout83-004 (01-04-83)e, RESOLUTION NO. 83 -4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A SIX -MONTH RENEWAL OF CALTRANS SERVICE CONTRACT FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE SPECIAL I -105 CORRIDOR SECURITY PATROL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR. WHEREAS, on September 4, 1979, the City Council authorized execution of a Service Contract with the California State Department of Transportation in order to provide a special security patrol in the I -105 Corridor in the City of Lynwood; and WHEREAS, on December 31, 1982, the City's contract with the State of California Department of Transportation for the continuance of the special se- curity patrol was to expire; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department has determined that it is vital to the security needs of Lynwood corridor residents to main- tain the present level. of protection offered by the special patrol; and WHEREAS, on December 21, 1982, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 82 -191 authorizing a six -month continuance of the corridor patrol contract with the State up to June 30, 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council. of the City of Lynwood: 1. City Council does hereby accept Service Contract in order to continue a special, security patrol in the I -105 Corridor in the City of Lynwood.
