A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE,
FLORIDA, OPPOSING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S
PROPOSED REVOCABLE LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH
EVENT ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, INC , FOR THE USE
OF VIRGINIA KEY AS THE SITE OF THE ULTRA MUSIC
FESTIVAL, PROVIDING FOR TRANSMITTAL, AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Commission is considering grantmg a license to Event
Entertainment Group Inc ( EEG ) to allow the use of Virginia Key (including Marme Stadium)
for the Ultra Music Festival (the Event ) and
WHEREAS, the Village Council held a public meeting on November 5 2018 to hear
from the Village residents on the prospect of the Event and
WHEREAS, the Village residents and others including the City of Miami residents
unanimously and vehemently oppose the prospect of the Event at Virginia Key and
WHEREAS, the Village Council likewise finds the proposal to be adverse and greatly
detrimental to the interests of the entire Village
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 Recitals Adopted That each of the above stated recitals are hereby
adopted confirmed and incorporated herein
Section 2 Opposition to Event That the Village Council strongly urges the City of
Miami Commissioners to immediately abandon any plans for the use of Virginia Key for the
Ultra Music Festival
Section 3. Direction to Administration. The Village Council further directs the
Village Administration to take all steps necessary to implement this Resolution and to protect the
rights of the Village residents.
Section 4. Transmittal. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to each of the members of the City of Miami Commission.
Section 5. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
adoption.
