A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
CLARIFYING THE INTENT OF REDEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
IN CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN
THE 1980 AMENDMENT REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA A.

WHEREAS, on July 3, 1980, the Lynwood City Council declared
the entire City of Lynwood to be a redevelopment survey area in
order for the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency to explore the potential
of additional redevelopment activities in Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, on August 5, 1980, the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency
approved the Proposed Plan for the 1980 Amendment to Redevelop-
ment Project Areap _which set, forth certain additional areas of
the City to be included in Redevelopment Project Area A; and
WHEREAS, the amended Project Area includes certain properties
located between Wright Road and the Long Beach Freeway, north of
Century Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, these properties were included in order to mitigate
the negative effects of the construction of the Century Freeway
and realignment of the Long Beach Freeway; provide specific pub-
lic improvements including, but not limited to, solution of traffic
problems along Wright Road and provision of adequate water supplies;
assist in the rehabilitation of individual properties through the
provision of low interest loans or otherwise; and encourage order-
ly development of surplus Caltrans property.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as follows:
1. It is the intent of the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency to
work with existing property owners in the Wright Road area to
improve their properties through the execution of Owner Partici-
pation Agreements.
2. The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency hereby directs staff
to immediately begin negotating such agreements with property owners
in the Wright Road area who wish to participate in the program.
3. The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency will execute such
agreements based only upon the individual property owners com-
pliance with existing City building codes and standards, as
adopted by the City Council. No further demards will be placed
upon property owners who have completed Owner Participation
Agreements.
4. The Lynwood Redevelopment Agency shall make every effort
to fully comply with all mitigating measures which were identified
in the final Environmental Impact Report for the 1980 Amendment
to Redevelopment Project Area A, with respect to the prevention
of negative environmental effects which may result from implemen-
tation of the plan.
