Home My Public Portal About032-2016 - Grant - INDOT - Community Crossing - Additional RoadsCOMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ORDINANCE NO.32-2016 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF GRANTS FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its Community Crossings Program; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond ("City") desires to submit eight (8) grant applications to the Indiana Department of Transportation to receive grants to assist with certain road improvements on certain roads that connect to the Midwest Industrial Park access and infrastructure improvements ("improvements" or "project"), which roads are described on Exhibit "A" that is attached hereto and incorporated into this Ordinance by reference; and WHEREAS, A total local match from the City in the amount of Three Hundred Forty-seven Thousand One Hundred Seventy-nine Dollars and Zero Cents ($347,179.00) is required for the grants. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 has submitted or will submit eight (8) grant applications to the Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with certain road improvements to certain roads that connect to the Midwest Industrial Park access and infrastructure improvements, which roads are described on Exhibit "A" that is attached hereto and incorporated into this Ordinance by reference. 2. The City of Richmond will provide the total amount of Three Hundred Forty- seven Thousand One Hundred Seventy-nine Dollars and Zero Cents ($347,179.00) from the MVH Restricted Rainy Day Fund in order to meet the matches required for the grants. 3. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Six Hundred Ninety-four Thousand Three Hundred Fifty-eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($694,358.00). 4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to assist with certain road improvements to certain roads that connect to the Midwest Industrial Park access and infrastructure improvements, which roads are described on Exhibit "A" that is attached hereto and incorporated into this Ordinance by reference.
