Shuman, P.E., Town Engineer <1:0 Watertown Department of Public Works Q 124 Orchard Street Watertown, MA 02472 Re: Water Mills at Bridge Point, 330-350 Pleasant Street (the "Project") Addendum to Traffic Mitigation Proposal Dear Mr. Shuman: Pursuant to our meeting earlier today, I am submitting a summary of traffic mitigation measures being offered by the Applicant in conjunction with the above -referenced project. These measures are being introduced in addition to those previously identified in a letter to you from Bayside Engineering dated November 25, 2016. Specifically this letter will confirm our commitment to those measures involving: 1. Bicycle Infrastructure: establishing a connection from the Locus to the Greenway for bicycle use without having to travel on Pleasant Street. 2. Intersection Improvements: (a) at Pleasant Street and Rosedale Road: provide a crosswalk at the west leg of the intersection with appropriate pedestrian ramps; provide for an upgrade to the intersection using a basic GRIDSMART or other similar system (estimated cost $20,00.00); and (b) at Bridge Street/Pleasant and Bridge Street/California intersections: provide for and coordinate the upgrade to the intersections using a basic GRIDSMART or other similar system to improve operations (estimated cost $40,000). 3. Transportation Demand Management (TDM): (a) Payment of the fee to the Transportation Management Association (TMA) for Watertown not to exceed the sum of $2,995 per year. (b) Commit the sum of $32,500 in perpetuity for implementation of the TDM measures outlined on page 3 of Bayside's letter to you, dated 11/25/17, which are incorporated herein by reference. We also take note of the fact that you have requested that our offer to install a proposed new crosswalk across the western leg of the Pleasant Street and Rosedale intersection not be installed. Accordingly this has been deleted from the program. Finally as additional mitigation we are proposing to install four (4) solar -powered flashing red stop signs, in accordance with the Town of Watertown DPW specifications, at the following intersections: 1. Waltham Street and Bridge Street 2. Rosedale Road and Acton Street We trust that you will accept these measures as part of our commitment to ensure that the Water Mills at Bridge Point project will prove to be the asset to the Town of Watertown that has been envisioned with the creation of the Pleasant Street Corridor District.
