Tybee Island Historic Preservation Commission Minutes from Meeting May 23, 2011 Members Present: Neca Stoller; Monty Parks; Joe Griffin; Dottie Kluttz. Cullen Chambers as ex-officio
Preservation Advisor. Members Absent: Craig Harrison. Guest Present: Chantel Morton(Better Home Town), Bill Garbett(City Council), Ethan Imhoff (Zoning Director) Meeting was called to
order @6:00 p.m. Minutes from the April 25th, 2011 meeting were approved. Discussion continued on possible revisions to Article 14 of the Tybee Island Land Development Code which addresses
Historic Preservation and empowers the Tybee Island Historic Preservation Commission. Discussion focused on priority list of action items governing specific items of Article 14 that
the Commission wants to pursue. Discussion on possible recommendations to be made to the City Planning Commission and City Council were also addressed such as local historic district
designations. One action item discussed was to place upon City right of way signs indicating the three three different National Historic Districts on the Island. Monty Parks made the
motion to have Cullen Chambers and Ethan Imhoff locate possible sites and provide examples of signs in other communities. Seconded by Joe Griffin. Chantel discussed bringing Leigh Burns
form HPD in Atlanta to Tybee to address City Council and the public concerning economic benefits of Historic Districts and Historic Preservation. Neca Stoller made the motion , seconded
by Joe Griffin. Chantel will try to schedule Leigh for June. The members discussed the need for a Chair-person. Monty Parks made the motion to elect Joe Griffin as Chair, Seconded by
