RESOLUTION NO. 73 -485 PC
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY RECOMMENDING
TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE AMENDMENT OF
SECTIONS 9291_AND 9362 OF THE TEMPLE CITY
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO OFF- STREET
PARKING REQUIREMENTS
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That the Planning Commission of the City of
Temple City does hereby find, determine and declare:
(a) That the public interest and welfare require
an amendment to the Temple City Municipal Code relating
to the number of required off - street parking spaces for
multiple family dwellings; and
(b) That the present requirements of the Temple
City Municipal Code relating to off- street parking
requirements are excessive; and
(c) That the public interest, convenience and
necessity require the amendment of the Temple City
Municipal Code in the manner hereinafter set forth.
SECTION 2. That Section 9291 of the Temple City Municipal
Code should be amended by the amendment of the subparagraph
thereof entitled "DWELLING UNITS" to read as follows:
DWELLING UNITS
Single family and duplex.
Two (2) parking spaces per dwelling unit each-of
which must be located in a garage,
• Multiple.

Two (2) parking spaces per dwelling unit, each of
which must be located in a garage or carport, plus one -
fourth (1/4) spaceBwhich may be either enclosed or un-
enc lbsed, per dwelling unit. (In computing the total
off - street parking requirement for any multiple - family
development, the total number of spaces required if
fractional, shall be rounded off as follows: One- fourth
(1/4) and one -half (1/2) to the next lower whole number;
three - fourths (3/4) to the next higher whole number.)
SECTION 3. That subparagraph (4)(f) of Section 9362
should be amended to read as follows:
(f) Off- Street Parking: Each lot in the R -3 zone
shall have, on the same lot or parcel of land, parking
spaces as provided in Section 9291. Such parking facilities

shall be conveniently accessible and located only on such
portions of the lot or parcel of land upon which structures
may be erected. The off- street parking spaces which are
required to be located in a garage or carport shall be
located upon the lot so that the vehicular access thereto
is not directly visible from a public street.
SECTION 4. The Secretary shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
