Minutes Tybee Island Historic Preservation Commission January 24, 2011 Members in attendance: Cullen Chambers, Monty Parks, Joseph Griffin, Neca Stoller. Guest Present: Chantel Morton.
Members Absent: Dottie Kluttz, Craig Harrison. Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm. Members and guest (Chantel Morton) were introduced. Cullen asked that members establish a schedule
of meeting dates, time and location. Members agreed to meeting the fourth (4th) Monday of every month at City Hall at 6:00 p.m. which had been posted at City Hall as such. Cullen discussed
the upcoming HPC training opportunity in Carrollton Georgia on March 11-12, 2011. Cullen outlined possible goals for 2011 which included review and rewrite of Tybee Island’s Land Development
Code as it relates to section 14-The Historic Preservation Ordinance which has been in effect since 2000. There was discussion on how to simplify the ordinance and yet keep it effective.
Cullen suggested improving the time table for issuing a demo permit to increase amount of time for finding a lot and relocating a historic structure. Cullen also suggested that a booklet
on economic opportunities for owners of historic properties be developed and provided to Zoning/Building Department by the end of 2011. Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m. Minutes prepared
