REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, DECEMBER 15, 1986
A Regular Council Meeting was called to order at 7: 30 P.M. with
Mayor George Hartsfield presiding.
Prayer was offered by Councilman Verne Scheulen. q
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Barnicle, Borgmeyer, Davis, Haake, Halsey, Nelson,
Scheulen, Veile and Woodman.
Absent: Gordon.

A quorum was declared present.
The first item on the Agenda was the Consent Agenda which
consisted of Council Minutes of 12/1/86; Renewal of contract with
Columbia Electronics, the Monthly Financial Statement; Approval of
a Conditional Use Application for City Right-of-Way; and the
awarding of the following bid:
855 - Additional Rooms, Animal Shelter, PCE
Councilman Halsey requested Bid 855 be held over for further
study. Councilman Nelson moved approval of the remainder of the
items on the Consent Agenda, Councilman Scheulen seconded and it
was approved.

Mayor Hartafield stated the following minutes had been received
and were on file in the City Clerk's Office: Animal Rescue
Advisory Committee, 12/3/86; Public Works and Planning Committee
12/4/86; and the City Administrator and Department Monthly
Reports.
• Mayor Hartsfield stated the memo regarding Sunset Lake and
contributions for this endeavor that had boon included in the
Council Packets was incorrect as certain information had been loft
out of that memo. A copy of the correct memo with the necessary
information had been distributed prior to the Council meeting.
Mayor Hartafield informed the Council that there would be a press
conference on Monday, January 5, 1987, for the City officials to
endorse the transportation sales tax.
Mayor Hartafield appointed Councilman Tony Barnicle to fill the
unexpired term of Roy Viesaman as Council Representative from the
First Ward for the Public Works and Planning Committee.

requested suspension of the rules; there being no objection, Bill
86-163 was read third time by title, placed on final passage, and

.'ouncilman Scheulen presented the City Clerk with a petition
:signed by a number of families in the first ward expressing their
•1ispleasure with TCI Cable Vision and the recent changes that had
en made by them. A copy of the petition will be distributed to
the members of the Cable TV Committee.
nouncilman Veile announced the next meeting of the CATV Committee
;ould be Thursday, December 18, 1986, at 7:30 p.m. in the main
lonference room at City Hall.
ouncilman Borgmeyer asked for clarification regarding the monthly
:sport of the Department of Transportation. Marty Brose, Director
�f the Department of Transportation, informed the Council that the
honey that had been spent on the shuttle bus would be reimbursed
y the Downtown Business Association.
