Mayor Hartsfield turned the chair over to Council Finance Chairman _.,..„ Randy Halsey. :, , = :z w. Changes The first item of business was to review handouts that were produced as -1f,, � ae Reviewed a result of changes directed at the first budget review session. The changes noted in the Finance Department resulted from the removal of :fl% the EDP Coordinator and were approved. OF asr 1. :° Planning Torn Benton explained the Planning and Code Enforcement budget. There 4. ,,,,-,,,4 g was discussion concerning the proposed contract for services with the x of :.!;:•i141 b Code Y I P 'v.'s: Heart of Missouri Humane Society concerning the operation of the Animal 's ' Shelter. There was a motion by John Hequernbou.rg, seconded by Craig 3" Davis, that the money for the contract for services be left as shown in 0!':,. the proposed budget but that the Council receive the detailed proposal on the contract for services no later than December 1 for evaluation. The motion was approved by voice vote. The next budget reviewed by :, °' Mr. Benton was the public building maintenance budget. The Council had • no comments or changes on that budget. • Vii:. Airport Marty 13rase reviewed the Airport Division budget. Ile noted that a change was an additional air traffic controller. Ile also noted that a `a>•- ;3{t , " major capital project of the installation of a glide slope was omitted . _ `` from the budget because there is a possibility for grant funding. Until ,,m!, :;, ; s,: that possibility is further explored , the suit of the project is unknown. It was stated that this could be �4 reviewed at a later date during the fiscal year if it was determined (! ;<.-f _. Ihiit the improvement is needed. The next budget reviewed by Mr. Brost. There were no other changes to the Central Maintenance budget. • East Side At this point in the meeting a citizen from the audience asked to be S Betterment recognized. Mr. Don Butzer spoke against the proposed parking subsidy �I Assn. of the Transit Division and also spoke against the proposed federal ! grant which would allow the City to buy more equipment for the Transit j1 Division.
