Division 698 Transmission Repairs , DOT, Central Maintenance Councilman Haake requested that the xrt+ceist actions taken in f regard to the Animal. Shelter be deleted and that the matter be discussed in an Executive Session at a future meeting. Mr. Haake asked Mike Bates about site development for the training center. Mr. Bates explained that he is currently obtaining an appraisal of some property being considered. Councilman Nelson moved that the Consent Agenda be approved, motion was seconded by Councilman Haake, and approved. Minutes Mayor Hartsfield announced that the following minutes have been Received received and are on file in the City Clerk's office: Parks Board, 7-23-85; Police Personnel Board, 8-20-85 and 8-27-85; Traffic Safety Commission, 9-5-85; Public Works & Planning Commission, 9-5-85. • ( Councilman Borgme�yer asked that the two-hour loading zone on Hilda Street be referred back to the Traffic Safety Commission to 1 ', allow everyone in the community to be allowed an opportunity to lattend the meeting and become involved before a final decision is made. Mike Bates was asked to place it on the next agenda of that i 336 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, September 16, 1985 committee and to mail notices to the neighborhood. Mike Bates was asked to look into making a one-way street of the street which runs by the ice skating arena. Hartsfield presented the name of Don Roark for Appointment reappointment to the Board of Adjustment. Councilman Halsey moved to Board of that Mr. Roark's reappointment be approved, motion was seconded Adjustment by Councilman Gordon, and approved. Mayor Hartsfield recognized two firemen who were present and who Solicitation wished to speak in opposition to Bill 85-109 pertaining to Ordinance solicitation. Mr. Alan Kreter, a Jefferson City Fireman, spoke on behalf of the Jaycees of which he is an active member. Mr. Jack Brade, a Jefferson City Fireman, spoke on behalf of the Firefighters Union. Councilman Huffman agreed with the two firemen and urged defeat of this ordinance. Councilman Voile, the sponsor of Bill 85-109 spoke in favor of the bill and urged its passage. The next item of business was the introduction of bills . Gray's Creek The next item of business was a discussion of the Gray's Creek Rates Sewer Project. A proposed letter to Mr. J. Raymond Brummet, Receiver, Cole County RSD, regarding the re-evaluation of sewer rate charges , was presented to the Council for consideration. Councilman Borgmeyer moved that the letter be approved and mailed to Mr. Brummet as proposed, motion was seconded by Councilman Nelson, and approved. Councilman Halsey requested that the portraits of deceased Portraits Councilmen be placed in a more visible location in City Hall. .340 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, September 16, 1985 Councilman Borgmeyer requested that Council Members receive a Charter • copy of a draft of the Charter. Mr. Garner stated that a final Draft draft will be ready after the meeting of September 23, and Mr. Borgmeyer agreed that he would rather wait until after that meeting to receive a up-do-date draft. • There being no further business, Councilman Halsey moved that the Adjournment Council be adjourned and go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing real estate, motion was seconded by Councilman Nelson, and approved by the following vote: Aye: Borgmeyer, Davis, Gordon, Haake, Halsey, Huffman, Executive Nelson, Veile, and Woodman Session • Nay: None. • • 7 i jj 1
