SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING August 2 '
Call to A special Council meeting was called to order at 5: 30 P.M. with
Order Mayor Hartsfield presiding.
Prayer Prayer was offered by Councilman Viessman.
Roll Call The following Council Members were present:
Present: Borgmeyer, Davis, Haake, Halsey, Huffman, Nelson,
Veile, Viessman and Woodman.
Absent : Gordon
A quorum was declared present.
Mayor Hartsfield recognized Will Manchester from Boy Scout Troop
8 who attended the meeting. Y
<t`, Don Shinkle Mayor Hartsfield
presented to Don Shinkle a key to the City and
Mr. Shinkle's Charter Commission nameplate as a memento of his
service as Chairman of the Commission . Mr. Shinkle is leaving the
City and resigned his positions of Chairman of both the Charter
Commission and the Police Personnel Board. Councilman Halsey
asked Mr. Shinkle questions regarding statements made by Mr.
Shinkle regarding the Charter.

PPBAppt. Mayor Hartsfield presented Duane Schreimann to the Council for
approval as an appointee to the Police Personnel Board.
Councilman Nelson moved that Mr. Schreimann be approved, motion
was seconded by Councilman Viessman, and approved.
Public The next item of business was a public hearing on the 1985
Hearing Properly 'Tax Levy. No one present wished to speak in favor or
Tax opposition to the proposed lax levy. Mayor Hartsfield declared
; Levy the public hearing concluded at this time.
Infernal The next item of business was the Informal Calendar. Councilman
Calendar Halsey removed Bill 85-58 from the Informal Calendar and
requested that it be placed on final passage .
85-58 Hill 85-58, sponsored by Councilman Halsey, entitled:
1985 Tax Levy AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, PROVIDING FOR
THE LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR
THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , FOR THE YEAR 1985 .
Bill 85-58 was read third time by title, placed on final
passage, and passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 10479:
Aye: Borgmeyer, Davis, Haake, Halsey, Huffman,
Nelson, Veile, Viessman and Woodman
Nay: None.
Absent : Gordon.
Adjournment There being no further business, Councilman Haake moved that the
Council adjourn into Executive Session for the purpose of
discussing real estate, motion was seconded by Councilman Halsey,
Executive and approved by the following vote:

Nelson, Veile, Viessman and Woodman
Nay: None.
