Order Prayer was offered by Councilman Halsey. Prayer The following Council Members were present: Roll Call Present: Borgmeyer, Davis, Gordon, Haake, Halsey, Huffman, Nelson, Veile, Viessman and Woodman. Absent: None. A quorum was declared present. - Mayor Hartsfield recognized Mr. Ted Stein and a group of young Demolays men and their Order of Demolays who attended the meeting. Mayor Hartsfield welcomed them on behalf of the City. The first item of business was the Consent Agenda, which included Consent Council Minutes of August 5, 1985, Administrator's Report and Agenda Finance Report. :: f Councilman Davis moved that the Consent Agenda be approved, the motion was seconded by Councilman Gordon, and approved. fv. Mayor Hartsfield announced that the City has not yet received the Tax Levy tax levy information from the County, and if received before before the next Council Meeting a special mooting would be necessary to vote on the 1985 tax levy ordinance . Councilman Davin moved that the Council endorse the annexation priorities as eslaab'1i:shed at this time by the Planning h Code Enforcement Department, motion wan seconded by Councilman Haalsc y, and approved. Mayor Hartsfield announced that he would be going to Washington, ILSA D.C. in the next week to a meeting regarding Pair Labor Standards Act . He will report to the Council at the next meeting how that will affect Jefferson City. Mayor Hartsfield presented Rev. Harvel Sanders to the Council for Library appointment to the Thomas Jefferson Library Board. Councilman Board Appt. Borgmeyer moved that the appointment be approved, motion ws seconded by Councilman Halsey, and approved. The next item of business was the introduction of bills . Councilman Halsey distributed information stemming from research Colt of other cities ' search for police chiefs . The information nsu ant for Polioe . presented population, salary, and whether or not a consulting Chief firm was used to perform an executive search before a chief was hired. He stated that he still does not feel n consultant is Search necessary.
