SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING, MAY 23, 1983
A Special Council Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with Call to
Mayor Hartsfield presiding. Order
Prayer was offered by Mayor Hartsfield. Prayer
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Borgmeyer, Gordon, Haake, Halsey, Roll Call
Hequembourg, Kliegel, Lock, Roark and
Viessman.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Davis.
A quorum was declared present.
The agenda consisted of one pending bill. R.
Bill 83-10, sponsored by Councilman Hequembourg, entitled: 83-10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING Contract/
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH J. C. J. C. Indus-
INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PORTIONS OF THE COLE tries, Cole

Project
Councilman Roark stated that the Public Works Committee had
discussed Bill 83-10, and recommended that the Mayor attach a cover
letter to the contract requiring J. C. industries to provide payroll
information to the Public Works Department each pay period. The
payroll information would pertain specifically to the work in this
contract. Lyn Porterfield stated that what was being asked for would
not be any more than a contract normally requires. It was the
consensus of the Council that Mayor Hartsfield should attach the
cover letter to the contract.
Bill 83-10 was read second and third time by title, placed on final
passage, and passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 9974:
Aye: Borgmeyer, Gordon, linake, Halsey, llequernbourg, Kliegel,
Lock and Viessman.
Nay: Roark.
Gary Hamburg distributed information pertaining to change-order costs Telophonoa
on the City Hall telephone system. Council Members were asked to ttt• now City
consider the information for action at the next scheduled Regular Hall
Council Meeting. The Council granted verbal approval 50 that Mr.
Hamburg could direct the telephone installers to complete the work.
There being no further business, Councilman Gordon moved the meeting
be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Roark and approved. pdournansnt
