Before this presentation Charter Commission REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, APRIL 21, 1986 ''' began, Mr. Clyde Lear, Chairman of the Commission, addressed the 1:' members of the council and expressed his desire to have special. recognition given to the following persons for their efforts on } the Charter Commission: The Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, the City Council, the City Administration, the City Clerk, and `. He then asked that the Council thank the following persons by way of resolution : Marge Morris, Editor; b , Judge Jim Fench; Judge Norman Houser; Jefferson Citians for Home Rule Charter, Mrs . Cascade Mr. Haake had a brief question concerning the Cascade System System which Chief Rennick answered. Appointment Next the Mayor recommended Dee Whitecotten, Viola Bridges, to Senior Clarence Billings, Faye Morrison and Elaine Aber to serve on the ,Citizens Senior Citizens Advisory Committee. Councilman Nelson moved to Advisory approve the recommendation, Councilman Haake seconded and the Comrnitte motion was approved. Next the Mayor discussed his Memo regarding the veto message on Martin I,uthe y g g ag King Bill 85-211. He asked the Council to uphold his veto by voting Holiday "No" . After much discussion, it was decided to deal specifically with this issue at the May 5 council meeting. The next item of business was the approval of the minutes from Minutes the Executive Sessions of 3/31/86, 4/7/86 and 4/14/86. Received Councilman Nelson moved that the minutes be approved, motion was Executive seconded by Councilman Davis and approved.
