Yer ti': ;;? the Council Chambers at City Hall, 240 East High, in Jefferson City, nor=` Missouri, with Mayor Hartsfield presiding. ING THE CITY CLERK GIVE NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION. Mayor Hartsfield read the bill first and second time by title and , -t•-` ordered it distributed to members of the Council . Thereupon, Councilman Prenger moved for the adoption of a Resolution entitled as follows: RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLAN FOR AN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR SCHOLASTIC INC. , A NEW YORK CORPORATION, AND DETERMINING THE INTENT OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON , MISSOURI , TO ISSUE ITS INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF APPROXIMATELY $7,000,000 TO FINANCE THE COSTS OF SUCH PROJECT. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was seconded by Councilman Scheulen. Thereupon, said Resolution was read and considered with the motion being put to a roll call vote. Bill No. 81-168, was introduced by Councilman Kliegel, entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 9760 PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND GRANTING OF FRANCHISES OR PRIVILEGES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, AND OPERA- TION OF CABLE COMMUNICATION OR CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEMS AND FURTHER PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUING REGULATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THESE FRANCHISES AND THE ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO THEM. Bill No. 81-168 was read first and second times by title and ordered distributed to members of the Council. Bill No. 81-169, introduced by Councilman Kliegel, entitled: AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A NON-EXCLUSIVE FRANCHISE TO TELE- COMMUNICATIONS, INC. , TO OPERATE A CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AND SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS ACCOMPANYING AND GRANTING OF THE FRANCHISE. Bill No. 81-160 was read third time by title, placed on final passage, and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 9769: Aye: Blume, Borgmeyer, Brant, Gordon, Halsey , Hequem- bourg, Kliegel , Prenger, Scheulen, and Wade. Nay: None. Bill No. 81-161, introduced by Councilman Halsey, entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AUTHOR- IZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A WRITTEN CONTRACT WITH TRAILWAYS, INC. , FOR A LEASE OF CITY LAND. Nay: None. Upon motion by Councilman Halsey and seconded by Councilman Blume, the Council adjourned into Executive Session.
