SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING, AUGUST 12, 1991 X.
A Special Council Meeting of August 12, 1991, was called to order
at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Louise Gardner presiding.

A quorum was declared present.

*Councilman Gordon entered the meeting at approximately 7 : 10 p.m. 11
i` Mayor Gardner announced the purpose of this Special Meeting was for i r
the approval of four new appointments to the Library Hoard.

Councilman Haako moved to approve the Mayor's appointments of
1 Thomas W. Barry, Mozelle Bielski , Jean Hafner and John Richardson 1
to the Jefferson City Library Board to fill vacancies created by '
resignations. Councilman Woodman seconded the motion, stating that
the Appointments Review Committee had met earlier and had
recommended the Mayor's appointments be approved.
Councilman Scheulen asked if the Appointments Review Committee had
reviewed the positions of the prospective appointments with respect
j to library services. Councilman Woodman deferred comments to Mayor
I. Gardner who stated that none of the appointments had an axe to
i grind or a single issue with respect to the Library. Mayor Gardner
stated no specific direction was given by her to any of the
1 appointments and these citizens were approaching the current
Library dispute with an open mind.
III'' The motion to approve the appointments was approved. As the was
no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
adjourned at approximately 7: 13 p.m.
