HomeMy Public PortalAboutJuly 1 AAC MinutesCity of McCall Airport Advisory Committee Monthly Meeting Minutes July 1, 2010 The meeting was opened at 12:10 by chairman, Walt Lee. In attendance were John Anderson, Airport Manager, and committee members Dan Scott, Rick Fereday, and Matt Shaddle. Kevin Bissel from Toothman-Orton Engineers was also in attendance. The minutes from the June 4th meeting were approved unanimously. Kevin briefed the results of the AIP 19 runway reconstruction and sewer bid. Congress has passed a “continuing resolution” for funding this fiscal year’s budget, so we await final budgeting numbers and approvals. There is a tentative plan entitled the “Krahn Lane” sewer-extension-to-airport, which will connect the city sewer system to the airport (which will then connect to the main sewer system on the west side of the airport). With the section under the runway completed this fall, the project will reach its intended conclusion. The Krahn-to-airport connection has the potential to eliminate the Krahn lift station, take McCall sewage out of the Deinhard Lane line, and open up land for commercial/industrial development east of Highway 55. Rick moved that the committee’s revision of the Airport’s Rules & Regulations be recommended for City Council approval. Dan seconded. Passed unanimously. The Council review of our recently submitted recommended “Minimum Standards for Commercial Aeronautical Activities for the McCall Airport” identified concerns for the following: Our recommendation for a restroom to be part of any self-service facility. Insurance modifications for both FBO and Independent Operators. Wording on amending the document. We agreed to recommend to the Council that we would review points of concern at the 5:30 p.m. workshop prior to the Council’s meeting on September 9th. The details of McCall’s Fly-and-Air-Show, scheduled for August 13/14, including the “airspace box” were discussed. Our own Tim Cochrane is in charge of the event, with PJ and John Seevers as Air Boss and Assistant. It was moved to cancel the August monthly meeting, due to few urgent items at hand. The next meeting will be on September 2, 2010, 12 noon, at Legion Hall.
