City of McCall
Airport Advisory Committee
Minutes
April 25, 2010
1. The meeting was opened by the chairman, Walt Lee at 12:05 p.m. In attendance were John
Anderson (airport manager) and Dan Scott, Eric Hagen and Rick Fereday (committee
members). Public attendee was Brian O’Morrow.
2. Rick moved that the committee-meeting minutes from March 4th be approved, seconded by
Eric Hagen. Passed unanimously.
3. Dan Scott briefed the committee on his observations at the quarterly meeting of the Idaho
Division of Aeronautics Advisory Committee. The Division of Aeronautics is allowed to
grant up to one-half of the grant match for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) projects, and
they grant funds to non-NPIAS (grant eligible) airports. This year they have chosen to grant
$20,000 per airport to “primary” commercial service airports, which receive at least
$1,000,000 in grant funds each year, and to match non-primary airports, such as McCall,
which receive $150,000 per year at one-half of the 5% grant match of the $150,000, or $3,750.
Dan suggested more lobbying of State Aeronautics in an attempt to increase grant-match
needs for the next several years, as McCall will receive over $2,000,000 in FY 11, and likely
will receive another $4 to $6 million over the following two-to-four years to complete land
acquisition and the taxiway move.
4. The finalization steps of Minimum Standards were reviewed, with the vote on their acceptance
scheduled for May 6th.
5. The review of Rules & Regulations continued. Incorporation of recommended changes will
take place over the next month, and the committee foresees voting on their acceptance at the
June 3rd meeting.
6. The meeting was closed at 2:00 p.m., with the next monthly AAC meeting scheduled for May
6th, 12 noon, at Legion Hall.
