HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 7/19/1971��o�� The W llsburg Town Council met in special session on June 24, 1971, wit��i Mayor Ross presiding and all councilmen present. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the problem of Mrs. Dimke's sewer connection. On a motion by Eckhoff, seconded by Claassen, it was agreed to repair Mrs. Dimke's sewer with a six inch sewer pipe which had been cut while installing the storm sewer on Monroe Street. Carried. There being no further business, the meeting stood adjourned. �� �� Mayor Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in special session on July 2, 1971, with Mayor Ross presiding and all councilmen present. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibility of curb and gutter abutting the Snittjer property on Monroe Street. On a motion by Claassen, seconded by Eckhoff, it was agreed to let Sherwood Snittjer negotiate his own agreement with Engineer Ryken and Contractor Watters for the installation of curb and gutter south of Emma Snittjer's residence to the Josephine Finke property line. No approval was given to extend curb and gutter north of Emma Snittjer's present curb and gutter to Mrs. Dimke's property line. The town agreed to put in the fill under the curb only. Carried. There being no further business, the meeting stood adjourned. Mayor Clerk The Wellsburg Town Council met in regular session on July 19, 1971, with Mayor pro tem Huisman opening the meeting and presiding until Mayor Ross arrived to take charge. Councilmen Van Deest, Eckhoff and Hippen were present. The minutes of the June meetings were approved on a motion by Eckhoff, seconded by Van Deest. Carried. On a motion by Hippen, seconded by Eckhoff, report was accepted as read. Carried. Van Deest moved that the following bills be went. Hippen seconded the motion. Carried. Carried. The Primary Road Extension Maintenance and Operation agreement with the Iowa State Highway Commission was approved on a motion by Huisman, seconded by Eckhoff, Carried. The Proposed 1972 Budget for the Town of Wellsburg was approved for publication with August 9, 1971, set as the date for public hear- ing of said budget on a motion by Huisman, seconded by Eckhoff, Carried. On a motion by Huisman, seconded by Hipper, the salaries of Aeilt Terfehn and Herman DeVries be set at $500 per month beginning August 1, 1971. Roll call of votes: Ayes-Huisman, Eckhoff, Hipper.
