AUTHORIZING AND AWARDING BID FOR
2013 ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ('Borough "), wishes to receive bids for the 2013
Road Improvement Program Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the 2013
Road Improvement Program Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received five (5) bid proposals for the 2013
Road Improvement Program Project as follows:

$1,344,806.55
3. Black Rock Enterprises
$1,622,536.60
4. Stilo Excavation, Inc.
$1,612,371.25
5. Lucas Construction Group, Inc.
$1,679,282.50
WHEREAS, S. Brothers General Contractors has submitted the lowest bid for said
contract as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department
and with the Borough Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has
recormnended the award of a contract to S. Brothers, in a total amount not to exceed
$1,237,263.75; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that finds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Nfayor acrd Council of the Borough
of Carteret as follows:
I. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized to enter
into a contract with S. Brothers General Contractors, South River, NJ
for the 2013 Road Improvement Program Project in the stun of
$1,237,263.75 in accordance with all respects with the request for
proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer.
Adopted this 6" day of June 2013
and certified as a true copy of the
original on June 7, 2013.
