We have a lot of talent, intelligence and skillswithin `_., U=t.':z,.J thAm to the fullest. Let us vow to this organization. G tai' liU weVei, vr'C. uu.V ivy __ make this year, 1996, a year that the Lynwood Block Council make a difference. We created a master calendar last year, but we don't have a single date blocked as of yet. If we are serious about making a difference then we must get some activities on the calendar and follow -up by doing the things necessary to make them happen. We are planning a "Town Hall" meeting during the first quarter, which Captain Law is currently putting together except for that, nothing is on the calendar Earthquake Preparedness week comes up in April. If we are going to present another "Earthquake Preparedness Expo ", we must get started. As you probably remember, we started so late last year it was difficult to get organizations and companies to participate. Also, a few people did a lot of work to make things happen. If we decide to do it again, we need more participation from the Block Captains. I have stated many times that we need committees. It's a shame that there are people ir, Lynwood who want to orgainze Block Clubs and become Block Captains but don't know how If we don't form any other committee, let us at least form this committee It will be their responsibility to recruit and train new Block Captains. It is time that we elect a full slate of officers. If you accept a nomination for an office, be prepared to perform the duties of that office. We must have a committed team if we are going to operate efficiently and successfully. I am looking forward to seeing the Block Council and Block Clubs do great things in 1996. 1 am also looking forward to being a part of those great things.
