Commission Minutes
For October 2, 1996
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in session at 6 10 p.m at
the Lynwood Community Transit Center, located at 3798 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Boulevard, Lynwood
Chairperson Zavala presided.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Zavala, Acosta, McZeal, Wroten, David Hampton, Hardin
and Brown answered roll call
Commissioner Mercado and De Hampton did not answer roll call
CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Mark Flores certified the posting of the agenda
APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES
Approval of the past minutes of September 1996 were moved to be
passed by Commissioner McZeal and seconded by Hampton.
PROGRAM REPORTS
Recreation and Community Services
Dorothy Siddell discussed the City's Halloween activities as well
as Character Counts and the LUSD Youth Summit.
GENERAL REPORTS
Commissioners decided to discuss day time curfew recommendations at
the November Commission meeting. The new Commission requirements
and guidelines were discussed
NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
Commissioners were asked to volunteer at the October 31 City event
Public Orals
There were no new public orals
Commissioner Orals
Commissioner Mc Zeal expressed her desire to elect a new Vice Chair
at the next meeting. Commissioner Zavala said she was disappointed
in not being able to attend the YC Conference.
STAFF ORALS
NONE
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner McZeal moved that the meeting be adjourned to the next
regularly scheduled Youth Commission Meeting and seconded by
Commissioner Acosta All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6 55 p m.
