Commission Minutes
For July 3, 1996
The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in session at 6:15 p m. at
the Lynwood Community Transit Center, located at 3798 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Boulevard, Lynwood.
Chairperson Zavala presided.
ROLL CALL
Commissioners Zavala, Acosta, Espinoza, McZeal, David & Devin
Hampton and Gwen Hardin answered roll call.
Commissioner M Hardin, Mercado, Nava and Wroten did not answer
roll call.
CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA
Mark Flores certified the posting of the agenda
APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES
Approval of Minutes of the May 1, 1996 and June 5 were unanimously
approved.
PROGRAM REPORTS
Recreation and Community Services
Mark Flores reported on upcoming City events including Lynwood's
75th anniversary Also, the city's Daycamp, Summer Basketball and
softball programs were discussed. Volunteers were needed for these
events
Youth Council /Teen Center
GENERAL REPORTS
Summer Job Fair was cancelled. Commissioner ACosta discussed her
involvement with the 1996 Hosler JR High School graduation.
Commissioners were asked to come up with ideas regarding how St.
Francis could aid the Commission
NEW PROGRAM IDEAS
The Commission will be participating in the next Cable workshop as
designated by staff

Commissioner Hardin welcomed new Commissioner
Commissioner David Hampton apologized for his late arrival
Commissioner McZeal and Zavala also welcomed new Commissioner
Commissioner Acosta welcomed new Commissioner
Commissioner Espinoza resigned from the Commission
Commissioner Hampton volunteered to work on the July 4 event
STAFF ORALS
NONE
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Acosta moved that the meeting be adjourned to the next
regularly scheduled Youth Commission Meeting and seconded by
Commissioner MC Zeal All in favor. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m
