Event Organization • Date * Place • Invitations * General Plan • Sub - committees New Program Ideas Public Orals Staff Orals Commission Orals Adjournment to June 5, 1996 0 i Commission Minutes For April 3, 1996 The City of Lynwood Youth Commission met in session at 6:00 p m. at the Lynwood Community Transit Center, located at 3798 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Lynwood. Chairperson Zavala presided. ROLL CALL Commissioners Zavala, Acosta, G. Hardin, Nava, M Hardin, Wroten and Hampton answered roll call Commissioners Espinoza, McZeal, and Sandoval did not answer roll call. CERTIFICATION OF THE POSTING OF THE AGENDA Mark Flores certified the posting of the agenda APPROVAL OF THE PAST MINUTES Approval of Minutes of the March 6, 1996 meeting was moved to be approved by Commissioner Avosta and seconded by Commissioner Hampton. PROGRAM REPORTS Recreation and Community Services Mark Flores reported on the opening of Baseball season, the up coming 5 City Torch Relay Run, the annual City Easter Egg Hunt and Cinco de Mayo Celebrations. Youth Council /Teen Center It was reported that the Teen Center was scheduled to begin reconstruction activities including moving its programming to different sites. There will not continue be any Teen Center program activity report until completion of construction. There will be construction development reports as necessary. GENERAL REPORTS Cable Show Training- the schedule for commencement of the cable class has been determined to be at the end of April or beginning of May. NEW PROGRAM IDEAS Consideration of a Youth Commission sponsored Youth Summer Job Fair was to be discussed at the next regularly scheduled 0 0 Public Orals There were no new public orals STAFF ORALS Staff requested that Commissioners submit an updated address and telephone list for Department records. COMMISSION ORALS Commissioner Acosta welcomed Dorothy Siddell, the Commission's new Department representative. Commissioner Wroten welcomed Ms Siddell and apologized for being late Commissioner M. Hardin also welcomed the new staff supervisor Commissioner Hampton welcomed the new supervisor and expressed his liking of the Job Fair idea ADJOURNMENT Commissioner G Hardin moved that the meeting be adjourned to the next regularly scheduled Youth Commission Meeting and seconded by Commissioner Acosta. All in favor Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m
