III. ADJOURNMENT
The regular meeting of the Women's Commission of the City of Lynwood, California was
held on Tuesday March 11, 1996 at 3:00 p.m., in the Conference room of the Lynwood
City Hall. The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.
Members in attendance:
Verna Culp
Mary Sue Lewis
Ethel Pacheco
Della Mazziotti
Also present were:
Councilman Louis Heine
Anne Fields, friend of the LWC
Carol de Jesus, staff liaison
Sandra Morales, minute clerk
1. ADMINISTRATIVE ITEMS
A. Meeting was called to order by Chair Mary Sue Lewis. Minutes of previous meeting
was approved with necessary corrections.
II. DISCUSSION ITEMS'
A. Final arrangements for the Women's History Month Artistic Luncheon:
The commission decided to have Verna Culp and Della Mazziotti as
Co- Chairs.
Approved were the following:
Lunch: chicken, salad, bread, vegetables, coffee, lemonade, tea, and dessert. The
Commission decided to have Elizabeth Dixon cater the event.
Invitations: lists of invitees were given to Sandra the minute clerk to mail out.
Flyers: necessary changes were made and then distributed around the City.
Decorations: Theme colors- Lavender /White. The commission decided to have
Elizabeth Dixon and friends to handle the decorations.
The Women's Commission were to contact vendors they know, and inform them of
the event as they did last year. The program would be composed of an introduction,
music while guests are eating, and a fashion show put together by staff, the
commentator will be Peggy Avila, (last year's commentator).
111. NEW BUSINESS
A. Commissioner Verna Culp mentioned that the NACWA convention in Florida is
coming soon. She said that two candidates be sent to the event.
IV. OPEN DISCUSSION
A. It was announced that Marcine Shaw's husband passed away, the commission
should send a condolence card.
B. Commissioner Verna Culp invited all the women in the commission to attend the
AARP meeting on Thursday, March 14, 1996.
There being no further business the commission adjourned at 4:05p.m.
